Spring is in full swing, and wouldn't you know it ... Mila is continuing to grow and change before our very eyes. It is not a stretch at all to say that she is one strong-willed and ambitious little girl! And for every meltdown or moment of frustration, there are about a half dozen adorable and endearing moments to make up for it.
Some of Mila's favorite things to do and say right now:
- Tumbling--we got to Wiggle Bugs every Wednesday and she just lights up with excitement. Her somersaults (aka forward roll) continue to impress the teacher and now she's trying to do cartwheels. Granted, they look like a somersault without hands, but I'm sure she'll pick it up with practice over the summer.
- Dancing--Boom Boom Pow is still the top requested song! Funny enough, it is never on the radio. She does love to sing along with all the radio songs and music from her various movies. I think music will be a big part of her future!
- Reading--she'll let me read through a few, but then she likes to take over and tell me what's going on.
- Clothes--she is still into her tutu skirts and she's been requesting to wear more dresses these days. But most of all, she's in love with her big girl underwear. We're slowly getting closer to potty training, so we bought some SpongeBob and Minnie Mouse underwear. She's pretty certain that its most effective to wear all 12 pairs at once.
- Bodily functions--its incredibly amusing to her when she burps and farts. We're constantly hearing "I tooted out my butt!" Oh boy...
- Mimicking--whether its through gestures or words, she picks up everything! She was looking through an app on my phone the other night and would put her fist up to her cheek (like a thinking pose) in between scrolling. It must have been an intense search! I've seen Jens do this before... and I'm guessing she did too!
Ok--on to photos from the past few months.
First up, St. Patty's Day. Jens and our friend Steve were going to take the girls down to the big parade. Unfortunately, they ran behind and the crazy crowd deterred them from going. Regardless of how it all played out, Mila and Lea had fun together (in their green outfits no less!).
Over Spring Break, we took a few days off with Mila and went to the Omaha zoo. The weather wasn't ideal, but we still had a great time and look forward to going back soon.
I mentioned her obsession with clothes above... well, that extends to shoes. In addition to her basket of shoes, she loves putting on my heels. Look at this sass, she's a natural!
And last, but not least, Mila graduated to a big girl bed! She was very excited and helped pick out the bed and the bedding. It's a little high for her to get in and out of, but she figured out how to use the drawer handles as steps. Smart cookie!
