March Madness

March has been quite a month! Mila had her first foods, then started rolling over, and now she's sitting... well, sort of. Jens sat her down in front of him today and she sat without any support for about 5-10 seconds. With a little more practice, I think she'll be sitting solo in no time!

As you can see from the picture, we've moved on from rice cereal to sweet potatoes. She wasn't so sure about them with her first few bites, but is growing to love them. (And she thinks her feet should be a part of meal time!)

She also had more grandma/pa time! Grandma Lori and Grandpa Denny came to visit last weekend.

Mila and I went shopping with Grandma Lori while the guys went to a car show. She crashed pretty hard after we got home, I guess this is proof that shopping is hard work!

Great Grandma Jane and Lauren were traveling through to Kansas City and were able to spend some time with us this weekend. Mila had a great time with them and showed them her new moves. She started rolling and made her way all around the living room. Gram thinks she'll be ready to crawl early, but let's not get ahead of ourselves!

And she rolls!

We went over to Aunt Jessie's for brunch today. She and Todd made some great food, and Mila provided some great entertainment. She worked at rolling over for quite a bit, and then she did it! Once she figured it out, she kept at it. At this rate, she'll be mobile in no time!

Bring on the cereal!

We took a trip back to Cresco last weekend and spent time with the grandparents. Great Grandma Edith was in heaven having her little Mila to play with. They were quite inseparable for most of the weekend!

Grandpa Dave and Grandma Sally were also excited to have their only grand-baby around.

We had a great dinner with Grandma/pa Hruska, Great Grandma/pa Krueger, Great Grandma Edith and Great Unlce Lauren while we were home. It was really nice to grill out again, even if it ended up raining on us! Mila joined us at the table for her very own dinner. She experienced rice cereal for the first time, and she took to it pretty well.
The pictures below were taken at home, from her second meal with cereal.

What? Is there something on my face?

Four Months Old!

Mila had her four month check-up today and got another great report. She is now 11 lbs., 13 oz. and is 23 3/4" long. That puts her at the 25th percentile for weight and the 40th for length, which is right in line with her growth chart. Many people have commented on how strong she is, and today her doctor commented that she's at about a 6 month muscular development stage!

She's still very amused by her feet and had a great time with her little foot raddles this weekend.
It didn't take her long to figure out she could also pull them off to find her toes.

The pacifier has never really interested her and her thumb isn't quite good enough... she prefers the entire fist!

Tummy time!

Mila was entertained by her cousins over the weekend. Ally came to watch her on Saturday while we went out for the evening. Then, Peyton and Dylan stayed with us on Sunday while their mom and sister when shopping. They all love her very much and were a big help!

Happy Valentine's Day!

The infamous spit bubble hanging off her lip...

Grandma Blessington and Aunt Kasie came to visit yesterday. Mila was her smiley self and put on a little show for them! She was content as ever as we ran our errands. Grandma pushed her in the cart around Target and tried out a few toys. She ended up getting the classical music and silly sound fish. I think this will keep her occupied for quite awhile.

Sitting in her little seat with ber best bud Ellie.

Say what?! It's the 2010 Daytona 500 today?
She can hardly contain her excitment...

Three Months Old

Mila is three months old already!

She loves to sit up and keep an eye on the action. This weekend, she discovered that she could see her feet while sitting and was determined to chew on her toes! She just folded herself in half and those toes kept her occupied for quite a while!

How 'bout those toes?!

Mila may have a good grip with ther hands, but her toes are just as strong! At bath time, we have to pry the towel out from her toes before we can put her in the water. And trying to wash between them poses another challege!

Trying out her new bathrobe was fun. She thought it was nice cozy and didn't want to let go of the sleeves when it was time to get in the water.

Mila found her stomach muscles recently and is always trying to sit up. I put her in her Boppy with just her head propped, and to my great surprise, she sat straight up! It was such a fun moment because she was laughing and smiling when she saw my shocked reaction!
Then, she got serious when I got the camera!

Watching the fish swim in circles must have worn her out!
There's an aquarium attached to the crib on the right.
